I was born in Ogongo Village of Mbita Sub County in Lambwe Valley. My father had one wife and both my parents were peasant farmers. I joined Waringa Primary School and sat for my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in the year 2002. I passed very well but could not continue with my secondary education due to lack of school fee. I therefore joined a Beauty and HairDressing Course in Mbita Town.
I got married in the year 2004 as a second wife to the late Johana Omuoso. Our marriage was blessed with two sons (Johana Omuoso - Jnr and Bernard Omondi). I am now a widow and the one educating and taking care of the children. My first born would like to be an Engineer and the last born a Teacher.
I started my business in 2012 after the death of my husband. I like visiting and helping the needy in the society.
My Saloon business is a fast-growing Hairdressing and Beauty Shop. It's situated in a very strategic location and I do attend upto four clients in a single day. There's demand for hair make-ups and saloon is a fast-growing business in Mbita Community. I love helping people and this business provides me with an opportunity to help people especially women in my community. Since I am living with HIV Virus, the business serves as a very good platform to pass HIV protection and care messages to clients in my community and it's helping to minimize the risk of new HIV infections as I serve as an advocate myself. In a good day I can make upto Ksh 1000 from the business and this is what I use to buy food and pay school fee for my children.
I am gratefull for the loans that have been advanced to my hair beauty business. I am seeking a loan of KES 14,840 to enable me purchase the following equipment and inventories to improve my business.
1. Rubber gloves – Kshs: 1,840
2. Hand held mirror (No 2) – Kshs: 1,000
3. Perm curler – Kshs: 1,000
4. Rollers – Kshs: 1,000
5. Shampoos – Kshs: 3,000
6. Perm kits – Kshs: 4,000
7. Conditioners – Kshs: 3,000
TOTAL = Kshs: 14,850
