I was born in Central region of Kenya in a family of 5 where I am the second born. I was born in a typical rural family and raised by my parents who are small scale farmers. My dad also works as a driver to supplement the family’s income. I later joined local schools for my primary and secondary education.
I later relocated to Mombasa city to live with my uncle. While there I enrolled in a training college where I undertook a course in hairdressing and beauty. I also did a short course in computer operations. I later got a job at a beauty parlor shortly after completing my course. I later quit due to low wages and started my own business.
I am a hardworking person and I believe in leading an honest life. I am a very active member of my church and I am involved in many social activities.
My business entails selling of ladies shoes within Mombasa town. I decided to start this business because I had established a good network of lady friends when I was working in the beauty industry and this gives me a competitive edge over my competitors. I also do it from door to door since I do not have store at the moment.
My net profit averages about $150 but this can go up during the peak period. I am using this business as a stepping stone towards my ultimate goal of opening my own beauty parlor.
As we head to the festive season, the demand for shoes will go up. For this reason, I need to boost my stock to cater for clients demands. I plan to spend this money to buy about a dozen pair of ladies shoes. I am hoping to make good sales during the season thus make a good profit out of it.
