Am Fanice Wanjala from Bungoma County in Kenya.I have a degree in AgricultureEducation and Extension with passion in farming.I was born in a poor family ,my father was a peasant farmer who struggled to feed his family. In our community back then a girl was not valued as a child for she was to be married off,but boys were taken to good schools and given the best opportunities to excel in life.My father wanted to marry me off at a young age but I turned him off for I wanted to go to school. While in school he even refused to pay my school fees but paid for my brother that one didn't stop me from working had until I joined university to study agriculture.
My education has enabled me to take my children to school,my eldest daughter is in form 1 and I always encourage her to work hard in her studies.I have also given her a portion of land for her to farm and she also keeps local poultry which she sells to raise her pocket money.
parents in my village to take all children to school regardless of their gender.
I love farming and sharing knowledge on new farming technologies with other farmers .
I want to develop a mobile app that will link farmers to agriculture extension service providers to enhance professionalism and efficiency.
Purchase 70kgs of layers mash @$30 ,70kgs of growers mash @$25 and 50kg of chick mash @$20.This will enable buy feeds on bulk hence save on the cost of transport ,it will increase my revenue by 20% since availability of feeds increases egg laying and boosts birds growth hence more money fetched.
