I am Victor kirui , from kericho county and I am a tea grower. I grow tea for my financial benefits and also as my hobby . it is our main economic crop and many of us depend on it for financial security in these tough times in Kenya. I started growing tea when I was 17 years, I had been given a small piece of land by my father and the only business I could think of was tea, since it was lucrative. I started small, planted the seedlings in seedbeds ,then later on transferred to the farm, where I tilled untill they were ready for picking.
my business is about tea farming . we pick tea depending on their growth rate, with proper care a 1/4 acre of tea can be picked five times in a month, and 1 kilo goes for 16 ksh to 20 ksh, also depending on the factory branch you take your tea to. I usually harvest 40 kilos a day, hence 1200 kilos a month, which equals to 24000 shillings. I intend to expand my tea zones in the future and a friend of mine told me about your lending policy and I am interested
the loan will help me to buy iron sheets and wire mesh to complete my poultry house. iron sheets =270 ksh
wiremesh =230 ksh
