My name is Ruth Wanjiku and i am 27 years old being born Koibatek location,Baringo County,Kenya. My early schooling started in the year 1995 in Kewasis primary school until in the year 2002 when i did my Kenya Certificate of Primary Examinations(K.C.P.E)and score a total of 294 marks. The following year(2003) i enrolled at the Mama Ngina high school in Rongai, where i schooled until i did my O level in the year 2006 and attained C- in my K.C.S.E.
This made my parents to take me to a tertiary training in Y.M.C.A.l Later on after 2 years of training i was awarded a Certificate in secretarial. From this point, there was nothing more less that interacting with people in my society so that they can look for me any kind of work in their respective working places.By this i landed at a law firm in Baringo town for the same position of secretarial, though it was not paying well. This made me to be frustrated in employment environment where i had to start saving at least Kes.2,000 per month as i plan what next after my employment. After a year in employment,i was having small capital to start on my own business and as a result i quit the employment. That is how i started this field of self employment and even today,i have seen the fruits is self employments.
Hallo everybody in the entire Zidisha fraternity.Thank you in advance for the kind considerations towards supporting my business.I have a small retail shop here in Baraka estate,Rongai constituency,Baringo County.
In my shop you can get goods like sugar, rice, cooking oil(liquid & solid),salt, breads, sodas, bar soap,e.t.c.I started this shop immediately i quit my employment and after i had saved some small amount of money(capital). I chose this kind of business after seeing how the residents struggles going for a long walk about 100 meters away looking for their daily domestic goods to use in the homes . The business has been in operation for the last two years and few month now,and the customers have been very appreciating me for bring them the desired goods closer to their door step.
My shop usually opens from 6 am morning to 9 pm at night, from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays i opens my shop from 2pm after attending the Church service and closes at 8pm..Currently there is a growing demands for the edible goods as well as non-edible goods. Most of my customers are the villagers & the entire population of this location and the workers who flock in town everyday from other cities.
Since the demands is growing of the basic goods ,that is why i came for your assistance and i was requesting for a boost in capital so that i can buy the goods in large quantities in town and from the main distributor Haraka wholesalers Ltd.This will make the prices of the goods to be much affordable to my customers since they are offering a free transport of the goods to my shop from the distributor, after someone buys bulky goods.I believe that through your generous and kind assistance,we will fight the ever price fluctuation in the market today.Thank you so much and for the support in my shop.I am proud to be part of the Zidisha big family team that cares.Long Live Zidisha and the entire Lending panel.
This is my kind gratitude to the entire zidisha platform for supporting my shop.Since the demand is ever growing,I had to seek financial assistance from the zidisha Microfinance so that i can stock large quantities of goods in my shop. This will make me add more daily customers who usually comes to my shop to do their shopping everyday. Most of the goods that i sell mostly i buy them locally from the wholesaler, who he surcharges the goods at a higher prices compared to buying to the main distributor. That is why i am planning to purchase the goods from the distributor who again offers a free transportation of the goods to my shop.
This is my breakdown of the purchase:
(a)10killogrammes of rice costs @ Kes.1920.In dollars is: 21
(b)25killogrammes of local sugar @Kes.3625.In dollars is: 40
(c)12 pieces 800gms Menengai bar [email protected] dollars is: 14
(d)10 kilogrammes of solid cooking fat @Kes.1200.In dollars is: 13
This will make this essential commodities to attract a fair price to my customers and as a result i will make more sales than what i get today.Thank you so much and welcome for the support of my shop.Thank you in advance.
