My name is Millicent Ashong .l live in Odorkor , an area in Accra. lam 23years old.l completed primary school and continue to have Junior Secondary School Certificate.My parent are Mr and Mrs Ashong l grew up with five siblings l am married and has a daughter . my child is going to school. l married my husband, Emmanuel last 4 years . l have set up small business which l sell local palm oil to my customers.l started this business because l want to support my husband so that he can
provide basic needs for my children. l do not want my husband alone be a main earner in the household. l used my earnings to pay my child school fees and save some for my business. l like watching movies, soccer and reading books. l dislike people who are not hard workers.Since l did not go to university l want to work hard in my business so that l will send my children to college.
l sells Palm oil to local people in the market. l buy all my Palm Oil products from the wholesalers. l have been doing this for3 years. l earn approximately GHC 500 per month (about $155) from this business. The demand are very high and now days l can hardly manage my household expenses with my income. l wants to expand my business so l can enjoy a better life and support my husband to provide basic needs for our children.. l am happy that l am self -employed and can contribute to my family’s livelihood.
As well as changing my family’s situation, l want to apply for a loan to visit a wholesale shop and buy Palm Oil in bigger quantities and also at a discount. This will enable me to increase my profits.
l buy all my Palm oil products from the wholesalers. l apply for a loan from Zidisha Microfinance to visit a wholesale shop and buy the Palm oil in bigger quantities and also at a discount. This will enable me to increase my profits. l want to expand my business so l and my children can enjoy a better life. l will be able to repay the loan because l make profit in the business and l do believe that with this loan my income and profit will increase.Thank you .
