I am a 30 year old father of one.I was born in a family of three as the first born.Born in the countryside i went to a public primary school and performed very well where i secured a place in a provincial secondary school.I had a dream to be a businessman but due to lack of school fees i almost lost my dream.
I transferred my admission to a day school so that i could raise my fee from my parents farm, where we grew vegetables and sold to neighbors. With the processed i could support my self for food and transport. After finishing my high school i proceeded to college where i did a diploma in business management so that when i save up i could be able to run a business successfully.
I have a small second hand clothing shop in gikomba market.I buy half a bale per week and business is good.I am planning to start a rabbit farm along side because i have been getting orders and many people are looking for rabbit meat.So far i have saved up some proceeds from my current business and i have bought the material for the construction. The typical costs for these will be to buy the kittens , food and the roofing material.
I love farming and playing football as a hobby.I plan to use the profits to pay back to loan, expand the business and buy better varieties of rabbits which will also need some investment into research.
I will buy kittens at $40, Roofing material at $30 and food for the month at $40.These will ensure that i have atleast 20 rabbits in 3 months time which i can sell for $10 each and this will improve the health of my customers as this is white meat. Also I will be able to employ one worker who will be able to help me in the running of both businesses and also I will meet the demand for rabbit meat that is steadily growing as people become health conscious. I expect my profits to increase form $80 which i get from my clothes business to around $140 per month. These returns will help me expand my Rabbit business and also pay the worker who will be assisting me. I should be supported because I cannot be able to meet the costs of the farm single handedly due to the increased cost of farm inputs and construction materials and also cost of labor due to the increased standards of living in my country and especially Nairobi where I live.
