I grew up in Meru a district in Kenya. I was born in 1954 and i went to school nearby home and i went to secondary school quite far from home. After graduation from secondary school i was employed as a civil servant in the ministry of lands as a secretary where i worked till my retirement. Iam now a senior citizen who has retired but has not tired from active work. After retirement, i decided to venture into business and after careful consideration, i started selling sacks focusing individuals and wholesalers. I have been running this business for sometime now and through it i have been able to see my children 6through school and as well the business has changed me drastically now that i have a network of clients and a pool of resources to enhance my customers needs.
Iam married with six grown up children and all working and therefore thanking God for keeping me alive to see my grandchildren.
My future dreams is to have a wide market in East and Central Africa now that the world has become a global village. I look forward to capitalize on the east Africa community markets and see my business grow big.
This business has given experience which i have shared with my clients and most of them see me as their role model for growth and development.
I do retail and whole sales services of sacks within and outside Nakuru.I started this business over three years ago. I decided to start this business after a thorough research and i realized that during harvest time farmers/individuals have problems in packaging their products and i realized that it was an opportune moment to start that business. The biggest challenge is when the demand is too high and i don't have enough money to do the supplies.Otherwise any business ventures has challenges such as competition, poor marketing strategies, and variation in market prices. However, i have tried to counter this through good promotion strategies, good public relations and trust with my clients and therefore a good customer base.
My customers are individuals/ farmers.Iam very proud of my business. I took a business that i have passion on and i do it to not only to my satisfaction, but to the total satisfaction of my clients.
The loan will be used to purchase sacks for sale at a cost of $100. This will be done at whole sale and retail. This will greatly impact my business positively and by extension, individually, at family level and business wise.
