About Me

Hi partners, I am Christopher Kayando, married and aged 29 years with two children. I dropped out of school in form three due to lack of school fees.
My ancestral home is Siaya county but I was born and brought up in Eldoret and this where I got married to my wife Jane William who comes from Western part of Kenya.

I have tried several odd jobs like making and selling mandazi’s. buying and selling second hand clothes which later also became very expensive and II had to stop. It was after this that I ventured into poultry farming which was introduced to me by a friend.

My Business

After my friend shared with me about poultry farming I decided to venture into it because of its viability. The demand for white meat and local eggs is very high that what I am producing is still not enough to meet the demand.

The main challenges in the industry, is high cost of medicine and the feeds for the birds. They have several diseases that need treatment of all kinds for them to survive and be able to reach the market.
My typical monthly cost of running the business is $220, while gross income before expenses is usually approximately $450. If I get the loan, I will be able to buy more birds and also get medicine and feeds for the birds.

I supply eggs and local chicken in the surroundings. The demand is always there as I had mentioned earlier because of the demand for white meat.

from the proceeds, I will pay tithe of 10% to the Church, re- invest 50% in the business, use at least 10% to assist my aging parents , 20% for personal use and then 10% to service the loan.

I am excited to know that at least we have a micro-finance that is there to assist the struggling entrepreneur like to acquire loan and boost my business.

Thanks in advance for funding my loan to enable be able to meet my ends and also take two children to school.

Talked to Kayando, but said the business collapsed as a result of the amount that he received from you hence he wants to refund what he received and then pull out of Zidisha.

I have talked to Kayando today, but he maintained that he can not pay the money because what he was given did not help him at all for you remained with all the money and that out of the amount he applied for he was given only 10%.

I have discussed with Christopher not once but he is saying that he was so disappointed with the amount of money he received after the deductions for he could not continue with the business.

He told me that he wants to get the money he owes pay it back and then say by to Zidisha for you have been of help to him but a burden according to his words.

I am pushing him to return the money he received so that you clear him.

Christopher could not do the business due to the amount that was disbursed to him and therefore he is planning to refund what he was given so that you balance with what was deducted.

Found time to discuss with Christopher but he is so dissapointed following what happened to him,

He told that there is no way the 900KES given to him can help him in his business and that he wants to refund the money so that you exit him from the scheme it is not helping at all but adding more injury because he had even borrowed some in order to clear so that he can do business in the month of december

    Dear lenders,

I am happy that my loan was fully funded , however I am dissappointed that when it was disbursed even the email shows that they disbursed 9057 KES. I only received 927 KES.

Following the above, I have written to the Zidisha Team so that look into the matter and send the balance for I have even checked with our money company and they are saying the their was no problem on their side.

Hope you will also contact the team on my behalf.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Dear lenders,
Thank you so much for having fully funded my loan.
With this money I will increase the number of chick and also buy feeds and medicine.

This will increase. my interest once the chicks begin to lay eggs.

Once again, thank you so much.

    Greetings lenders,
I have managed to get Mr.Christopher today again he still says he has challenges financially since his poultry has not matured for sales but he is trusting God to make small installments with the one that he gets as he waits his poultry to reach maturity to enable him sell them.
I have also advised him to do adjustment of the repayment schedule and continue consistently.
