I am Joseph Omware, I am a Kenyan born and raised in a small village in Kenya. I studied in a local primary and secondary schools before joining college where I studied Accounting and International Computer Driving License (ICDL).
Having lost my parents at a tender age, it was a struggle going through school.
I worked as a house help to finance my college education, saved money and bought 3 second hand computers, looked for a room and started a small cyber cafe in a slum dwelling called Kibera in Nairobi Kenya. The poverty is evident here and most people can not afford smart phones or lap tops so majority depend on Cybe cafe.
I have a young family and I want my children to have a better life than myself
I love working with computers and that make my work enjoyable.
I run a Cyber Cafe offering services like online browsing, renewal of business permits, renewal of licenses. I also offer computer training lessons to youths equipping them with the necessary computer knowledge so that they can tap into different online jobs that require computer skills to reduce unemployment in the society. My business is based in Kibera Slums in Nairobi Kenya and it offers solutions to the locals to do things online since most of the residents are poor and can not afford smart phones or lap tops. The computer training also help youths who can not afford to pay for expensive college fees to acquire computer skills. I have also managed to employ one person assisting me and am glad to create employment and make difference in the society in the smallest way I can. I am hoping to grow the business especially on the part of training youths in different computer skills and courses that will give them an advantage in the job market.
I will use the money to repair two of my computers to improve service delivery to my customers and this will go a long way in improving my income and my family's well being
