About Me

My name is Ann wanjiku chege .Iam married lady with a son .We live in bahati Nakuru.I work very hard to raise our child and be able to meet all his needs as he grow.

My Business

I operate a general shop where I sell many varieties like I sell greens fresh milk and many assorted goods which are sold in the shop, I get a profit of 25,000 per month from the shop, I use the money to pay my monthly bills and also to cater for my daily needs. We also do some farming where we get food and we sell some, we also have a cow which gives us milk for home consumption and also for sell the income of farming and cow is about 150,000 annually.

Loan Proposal

I would like to add the stock of my shop and I would need 29,000 to buy the moving commodities like buying cereals because during this season of the year most people do not have anything from the samba , so they usually buy from the shop .It would be an advantage if I stock the necessary commodities.

My business was down. The things that make it go down, my aunt happened to be ill and the money ew have, we used for hospital. And after that, when she was in hospital, she passed away. And the money we get we try to share for buying food and rent, and to help ourselves. We are trying and hope it will get better. We are going to pay slowly by slowly until we finish.

    Dear lenders,
Hello, my name is Traci Yoshiyama, Zidisha’s Kenya Client Relationship Manager. I am currently residing in Mugaa, visiting Zidisha borrowers in nearby villages. I payed a visit to Ann Chege in Bahati today. She apologizes for not being able to make her monthly payments as of late. She has informed me that her and her family are struggling financially, for their business of selling charcoal has not been profitable. Currently, this is Ms. Chege and her husband’s only source of income. Their other businesses have not been successful as well. All their wages are presently going towards food and paying for rent on their flat. She has asked her lenders to understand her situation and she has thanked everyone for being patient with her. She plans to resume her payments in August.

I diversified my business to buying milk from small scale farmers and selling it to some of the big hotels in Nakuru hotel but some of the hotel failed to pay for the milk delivered claiming that i was delivering unpalatable milk so farmers were not ready to buy the idea I was torn between paying the farmers and asking the hotelier to pay me my dues.I sold some of my items so as to close the gap but even up to now i have not managed to pay some farmers , am still struggling to get money from other sources .Now am buying charcoal and selling it to various household i hope my business will improve

i received the money and iam very gratiful for it. i was able to add the stock. currently the country is very dry especially in my area. the farmers are therefore depending on greens in the market. iam now able to buy the greens from far and they are selling very fast. when it rains, i will change to other fruits.the challenges that i face include lack of a freezer to preserve the greens for a long time and that means taht i cannot buy alot at once. i have to travel for the same every other day. also, the peopple around here are farmers and are used to eating fresh greens from the farms. they do not like the once that have stayed for long since they were harvested.
