My name is evans Baya a resident of mtwapa and a businessman in mtwapa as well. Am the second born in my family in a family of four children, mum and dad. I live here in mtwapa while my family lives in the village in chonyi area Kilifi county. I went up to secondary school having completed my form four. after school i could not get the chance of joining to any college due to my family's poor financial status. I had to turn into business. My first business was selling of coconuts. I used to search for the coconuts inthe farms and sell to the market. This was a good business but seasonal. So i
decided to look for another alternative. I then started a green grocer which has been doing better and very helpful to me. From the income i get from this business i buy food for my family, help pay school fees to my young siblings, pay my own house rent and other essencial.
i have now begun dairy farming with two in calf heifers which am sure God willing will be due from october this year. this will give me a chance to settle my loan on time as the proceeds from the sale of milk will be in plenty since the cows have a capacity of 20litres per day and the cost of milk is 50bob per litre. on average apart from the business my milk will be giving me a minimum of 4000/= shillings per day. in adition to that my fruits and cerial business is gaining roots and its becoming more profitable so i can see my loan will not be a big problem solving....
hi thanks once again for the kind support that you have accorded me since i joined zidisha platform. i hereby wish to take up a bigger challenge with this new loan and make my family more comfortable. i wish to embark on a mission of food retailling and especially vegetables from upcountry to down here at the coast. i have some connections of getting potatoes from Meru to the coast so that i can start a fast food joint. i have seen that in the current style of life that most people do like fast foods especialy in the urban centres and that prompted me to think of this venture. it ranges from chips and chicken down to sausages and fresh fruit juices. with the busy schedule that most salaried people have it becomes difficult for people to cook foods in their houses hence our advantage.
