I am single , a Christian and I attend Solid The Rock Fellowship in Nakuru. I was born in Nyamira county in Nyanza province.I attended my primary school at Rianyaemo primary school and later joined St. Gonzaga Gonza secondary school.later I went to to Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology where I did my Diploma in Accountancy and shortly after my college (studies) I decided to enter into business of which am currently operating in Nakuru town.I live at Kenlands which is nearly a kilometer from Nakuru town.Being a sole proprietor of my business I have managed to support my two sisters in college and a brother in high school.Apart from that I do Agricultural farming in Molo where I only grow Irish potatoes which get their ready market in Nakuru town
I own a Boutique Business which I operate within Nakuru town at Highway Towers 2nd floor behind Uchumi Center
I have been operating my business for the past three years which I started late 2010 to present .I decided to sell these kind of products because of the great desire I had in the business after identifying the business idea which was greatly influenced by a high demand of the products by University students within that environment
I sell the following products to my clients who are only men;-Leather Jackets, trousers both jeans and material, shirts and T.shirts of all kinds, suits, ties and other minor clothes which are only for men
For the last three years now I have attracted a quit good number of customers who prefer my business due to high quality products I always sell to them at reasonable prizes
I would wish to expand my business by increasing stock and I also need introduce female cloths to my business for gender balance which I consider will increase my sales volume by a big margin since their population is much higher than that of men. In order to cope up with the rising demand of the products I need more finances to inject to the business because currently I have inadequate finances for the expansion.
In a month I able to make sales revenue of approximately KES 65,000 and during peak season like January ,May and September intakes the sales rises to KES 75,000.my total expenditure in a month is approximately KES 45,000 inclusive of electricity bills, labour, security and purchases.
I am very grateful to Zidisha for giving me yet another opportunity to expand my business. In Kenya people like the last minute rush and this being the period where guys get back to work and children to school (primary, secondary and tertiary institutions), it is yet another time where we (boutique owners) experience high sales. I will use my second loan and my savings to invest in fashionable clothes for college students both male and female and official wear for white collar workers. I will also invest in students clothes like grey trousers and skirts which happen to be what most schools uniform look like and White and Blue shirts and Blouses these colors are generally liked by majority of people whether working or attending college even secondary schools use these two colors mostly as their uniforms. This will ensure I make high sales turnover during this season. Since we get our stocks from Nairobi am planning to buy in bulk this will also make my operational costs low hence maximizing my profits. A bale of clothes costs averagely 11,000
