I have a diploma in business management and a trained secretary. Currently, I have begun a chicken farming business since I inherited a piece of land from my parents. My area of residence is Syokimau which is a big backyard. I started this business after being gifted 3 hens and 2 roosters. I have kept them for a whole year mainly for just eggs for home use. I recently started doing research on chicken farming and I found it to be very lucrative. I have so far expanded it and have a total of 2 roosters, 8 hens and 41 chicks.
So I plan to expand this business to sell eggs and chicken meat. Currently, I am getting 8 eggs every day which means it takes 4 days for a tray to fill up. So in a week, I have approximately 2 trays of eggs. I thereafter sell the eggs. Each tray fetches $6.50 so in a week I get $13. I spend $6 on feeds which last for two weeks. I also supplement the food with a garden I have in the backyard where they feed on greens. I already have the chicken coop which is spacious and laying points, sickbay in case of sickness. I also have feeders and drinkers. I am looking to get financial assistance to be able to buy more feeds especially for the chicks and also medication that is needed at times. My research showed that for this venture to be profitable, it needs the chicken to be more so that one can get more on eggs.
With the loan, I would like to buy a bale of household rummages. These include kitchen towels, table clothes, aprons, oven mitts etc. I will providing things that have been on demand. However my main target will be low income earners. Most of them have a desire to buy thing for their kitchen but are unable to because most of the things are not affordable to them.
With this, I will add profit from my previous business so I can purchase a bale of household rummages. I expect this will be fast moving items and since I will sell at a fair price, I will get back my initial investment plus a profit on top.
