I was born and brought up in Yala, Siaya County. I schooled at St. Teresa's Yala Primary School. Graduated to join Ng'iya High School for A levels, thereafter joined Kenya Technical Teachers College for Diploma course in Information Technology.
Paying school fees to further my education became a challenge for my parents and through determination and perseverance I pulled through.
After graduating, life became unbearable to sustain myself and finding a job of my profession became a nightmare and for this reason i thought it wise to start Honey Harvesting and selling of both raw and processed honey. In the society people believe in team work for example collecting funds to support village initiated projects every year like building a hospital .my hobby is doing research about everything that comes my way andtheir positive effects.
I harvest, sell raw and processed honey. Honey has high nutritional value compared to, bleached sugar and its products. For this reason sugar is substituted with honey. After thorough research it came to my realization the adverse effects of bleached sugar and for this i purposed to sell pure honey which has more medicinal value to the body as i needed a healthy community.
I have to travel to the various bee-farming sites, meet the bee-keepers so as to negotiation price before harvesting is done. The harvested honey is transported to Nairobi for processing, packaging, and finally sold to the consumer. The profit amassed is reinvested in expansion of the business, increasing the quality of service provided, paying the house rent as well as purchase of personal effects and food.
I intend to purchase 80 L of raw honey that which will cost $25.01. The remaining $ 3.9 will be used to to purchase the packaging materials. The honey consumed by costumers is very healthy for their life. Honey has curative properties that medics prescribe to their patients. This will help me also help increase the territory . I expect a 50% increase from the invested amount.
