I am Peter Kiplangat Chirchir, 37, Kenyan, I hold BA in philosophy. I graduated 2005, since then my dreams to do masters degree have been in vain. because mainly by the fact that the little amount I have been getting through untrained teaching job, have been going to my parents who do depend on me. Also the job have not been stable because of my not training in education. However, I have great passion in teaching which I can actualize in teaching colleges, only if I pursue masters program. It is for this reason I am looking forward for a helping hand: the whole course at Daystar university in Kenya costs approximately $4000(Kshs. 400,000) but if I can get half of this, it will be good for my start. I want to pursue MA in monitoring and evaluation. I wish and hope my yearning and desire to come to its fullness one day by the help of Almighty God through someone. God's blessing to you all.
I don't own a business but employed as untrained teacher at Baraton college Kapsabet campus. but do own two cows, three calves for home consumption and supplementary income, which is fair. my cows are not hybrids. I started by raising traditional chicken when I was a teenager. I got my capital from weeding a neighbour's maize farm. By then, I was paid kshs. 70. It was enough to buy a chicken in 90's. I survived with the birds through high school. At a point I sold and bought an ewe, the sheep multiplied enough to buy a young cow! Thanks to patience and time.
I will get home supplies US$7. The home supplies includes molasses for my cows, with the on going drought which is devastating for our animals. The drought is so straining to farmers especially livestock ones. That not withstanding, drought has strongly bitten livestock farmer's pockets.
Rains are very essential for us farmers as the pastures became available consequently enough milk and income. Rains are getting late going by normal fall of long rain season. last year, we didn't receive short rains.
