My childhood was fine apart from the usual ups and downs that a middle class family would have gone through. I was born in Mombasa, Coast province where we resided in Bomu estate Mwisho Magongo but my countryside is deep in Luo Nyanza, a town called Nyamonye in the middle of Bondo and Usenge so I can say am a child of all worlds.
I am a Bachelors of Arts graduate from Moi University majoring in French (Languages and Literary studies), and a subsequent Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations and Marketing from the Kenya Institute of Management.
I have professional experience in sales and marketing and promotions in Kenya and have worked in direct sales of fast moving consumer goods in Kenya and regionally (Uganda and South Sudan).
I have overcome most of my hardships through my resolve and ingenuity. I have also always travelled seeking greener pastures incase my area of field of work or business is crowded.
I have lived in many lands and i find in all places the most unique aspects are the people and their stories. I have always wanted to be a writer so their stories fascinate me.
I would want my children to work with the community a whole lot but if they catch a travel or business bug like me they can decide their careers in either art or science or entrepreneurship.
Reading alot about the past. I call it catching up on history.
I want to start a Home Gym and aerobics business in my neighbor hood to keep the youth fit and to give them some extracurricular activity to participate in instead of idling and if possible a cyber where we will provide services and training for the youth.
Every human being needs to keep fit and healthy either for health purposes or jus to look good. Theirs always a huge demand for gyms in all sectors of the society.
I was once a gym buff trainer and all round exercise guy a feel a gym would fit my routine. Cyber also would use to train the youth in the area especially the once attending our exercise sessions.
To set up inclusive of rent of premise and equipment we need a minimum of ksh250,000.
Profits will be re invested in equipent and expansion of a gym franchise.
I intend to purchase a cross trainer, exercise bike a multipurpose bench and weights around USD 700 , set up wi fi and buy some desktop computers USD200. I already have a premise identified for the set up and am sure i can raise the rent for the said location.
Apart for the obvious health benefits and fitness levels it will keep the local youth busy from drug and alcool related activities crime and other negative ventures.
I plan to charge only on membership basis for both services so am sure the more the members i have I should have a 5% escalation in profits for each member am getting thus i will improve my marketing and sales techniques so as to get new members.
