My name is Monica Nyambura. I am the first born in a family of 3.My family lives in Ngong ,matasia but I stay in Nairobi. I work at Chemville pharmaceuticals as a clinical officer. I studied Clinical medicine at Kenya Medical Training College Nairobi. My passion is to treat and manage patient competently. I work at the chemist by dispensing drugs and also do consultations since it’s also my area of expertise. I do polio and measles campaigns through the ministry of health, within the community during my free time.
My source of income comes from working at the chemist. I want to expand the chemist so that I can have a consultation room so as to start consultation services for the residents of Kayole. Currently I do most consultation over the counter and dispense and manage over the counter. I also want to offer family planning services and that requires the patients' privacy. I also want to start I.V Medications that can only be done in a private room. To achieve all the above I need a bed for examinations of the patients, a B.P machine, a table and a desk and I will be good to go. The area has low earning families and will really benefit from the affordable consultation services as many other big private hospitals are much more expensive. The patients will also benefit through health education about importance of family planning, immunization, weaning which cannot be achieved through consultation over the counter. The above is expected to cost about $250 and my monthly revenue is $300 so I won’t have a problem paying the loan in installments of one week.
I would like to establish a HIV testing and councelling unit in my facility,in order to achieve that i need funding of about 200$ so as to do a complete course of training so as to acquire the necessary skills. The HIV testing and councelling is of utmost importance as it creates an opportunity for couples to plan based on the HIV status of both partners and creates a support system in terms of care and treatment and most importantly it enables a person to start medication early enough so as to curb the infection.I would love to be part of all the above and would appreciate the funding.I have some income from the outpatient clinic and paying back the loan in weekly installments will not be a problem.
