My names are Evans Oloo, am a pharmacist and i run a pharmacy at my local neighborhood, i was born and brought up in Rodi town in Homabay county,i went to school at Rodi primary school and later-on Kangeso high school in Migori county.I was raised by my mother from the early years of my childhood since she is a single mother . My mother worked hard to fend for me and my sister , she sold groceries to help us survive,She paid my school fees until i competed my college at Kenya medical training college. Since employment was not forth coming i became an agent, supplying medicines to different pharmacies at a fee.I later started my own pharmacy Fishing is unique to this land where i stay with my family and children. One of my child wants to be a university professor while the other one wants to be a teacher.i love reading books and watching movies.
I provide medicines mainly human medicines , i sell different kinds of antimalarial medicine, cough tablets and syrups, malaria drugs of all kinds , paracetamol, aspirin, and all kinds of drugs used in the treatment of all kinds of human ailments. My business provides medicines to my community and i also make a living from it.My main costs are the cost of my rent where my pharmacy is located and the cost of license yearly , i make a turnover of 35,000 KES every month which i use to pay for my children's school fees and to expand my business.
I will buy coartem antimalarial medicine which will cost me $100 for a carton containing ten packets of full adult doses,i will then sell each packet at $15 , therefore making it $150 hence a profit of $50, and i can sell all the packets in the carton in one and a half weeks.I will be able to reduce malaria by 20% in my community.
