My name is Julia Karanja a Kenyan lady by birth.I am the third born in a family of five children,I am a business oriented lady and I started business early enough to have gained good experience during my time in business.I am a chef by profession where I specialized my course at Nairobi Aviation and Utalii College, I used to work and at the same time manage my fathers hardware where I am the manager now.My Dad decided to hand over the business to me fully after he saw my hardwork and good management skills.I have never looked back and I have always worked hard to shine in the business never to let him down.I grew up in Muranga county and during my childhood I used to be a staunch christian like my parents used to teach us.
My business is Hardware a luxury brand in the home furnishings marketplace offering furniture, lighting, textiles, bathware, and décor, outdoor and garden. Karanjas hardware is an integrated business with multiple channels of distribution. We have a good reputation from yester years as we have always insisted on quality goods.
I have a good reputation in my community and have gained trust to a number of customers and I am always thankful to them because they have kept me going and I have always promised good and quality service. The market at the moment is rapidly growing because Kahawa Wendani is at its peak of growing at the moment so many apartments are being brought up every now and then.
Per month we make a profit of between 775.62 usd and 886.43 usd which is not bad profit and if the trend goes on like that or beyond that mark, I am planning to start another serious décor hardware where I will be getting my staff from Dubai and China God willing. At the moment the profits are used to re-stock new Items in the market and I have a task of schooling my little brother and sister who are still in school.
I am applying for this second loan because the first loan made a great impact in my business, although the December holidays pulled the business behind a little bit now business is back to normal this January, and I believe this being a higher amount if funded on time will be of great impact to the business. With paints alone now I am able to make at least 43.65 usd everyday on paints alone.I now want to introduce more advanced paints than the normal ones that I was selling when I first introduced paint to my business. I came to realise by having all the required coats and varieties one can make so much with paints, this is because they go with coats. I tend to introduce emulsion finishes, gloss and semi gloss finishes, esta economy range, specialized finishes, wood finishes and preservatives just to mention a few. The cheapest goes for 4.70 usd and I can sell it upto 6.3 usd market price. While the most costly goes for around 152.75 usd based on Kgs and I can sell upto 160.1 usd I calculated this maths and came to a conclusion, that I can even specialise on paints alone and do very good in the business.
