I grew up in Western Kenya and was raised by my grandparents. My mother gave birth to me at 20years and so she was too young to take care of me so she moved on to work in the capital as i was left in the care of her parents.
I went to a nearby local school where despite the challenges like going to school without shoes and on an empty stomach, i managed to perform well and join a government high school. here i still had chalenges especially school fees since now my single mother had to take over my schooling. Despite being in and out of school due school fees areas, i managed to pass well but could not join university since i lacked school fees.
i am married now with two children and i managed to go to university despite my small earnings in part time jobs and my still growing business.
I started a small catering business with my husband and wish to expand it.
this came after too much struggling in meeting needs for my children and family.
My daughter wants to become a pilot and my young boy is yet to decide as hes still too young. I plan to work extra hard to make sure that their dreams come true.
My hobby is actually building and bringing down castles-call me a great dreamer!
My business is a catering business that deals with outside catering mainly food.
The foods are local meals that many organizations or people would like prepare in several events.
My husband is a chef and this motivated us to do this business since food is allways a need in every event and we have the skill.
This business is still small but it takes care of our small family needs and that is why i wish to expand it.
I really appreciate the loans that i have gotten from zidisha because my business is now taking shape and i am equally taking ground.
I wish to further expand it and also gain some skills in managing this business.
My past loans have enabled me to establish my business, expand it in resources and skill and i am forever greatful to zidisha. I am focused on maximizing profit hence the need to look enlarge my business without necessarilly establishing new premises.
I am planning to start an Mpesa business which i will position within my business premises. This loan will therefore provide my initial float for this business and some little partitioning here and there to provide small but presentatble setting for the mpesa transaction business.
Thank you Zidisha for this help that has actually made me a happier and fulfilled Kenyan.
I will really appreciate if this loan is granted.
Hi Zidisha, i first of all wish to appreciate this opportunity for lending us money for our businesses.
Out of the first loan, i was able to set a foundation for my business which saw a few areas adjusted and premises expanded.
I however need more money so that i can expand this business and buy more equipment.
I wish to buy a deep freezer. This is because it will help me avoid wastage and bulk buying that is really cost effective.
I wish also to buy more food warmers. This will help me in conducting outside catering which calls for more food supply. Using food warmers/food warmers usually indicate professionalism. I wish to set standards for my business so that i achieve the best.
I also wish to expand my premise . i wish to get an extra room for more clients to fit in at one time. This is because its a big challenge when clients are forced to keep standing so that others finish for them to get space to eat. Actually, most leave and just a few remain.
I want to believe that in a years time, i will be able to now start getting some good profit that will allow me to save then expand the business in the next few years.
This will be enabled by your support in funding this project.
It will also help build and develop the lives of the individuals that i am employing.
Thank you and lets build a healthy and professional food industry together!
