About Me
Rebecca Addai is my name. I am a native of Techiman Aworowa in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. In my childhood, my parents had a broken home which led my father to take a second wife. My caring was left to my mother alone. Lack of money could not permit her to persue my education after my junior High school. I indulged myself in petty trading like selling of pure water and drinks. I got married and my husband was able to help me start a furniture business.
People in Techiman like going to school. My children also like going to school.
I love my current work and I love my town, Techiman. All because business is very good at Techiman city.
My Business
Students tables and chairs are basically what I sell. In addition, I add some wooden furniture used in the home, for example, tables and chairs for eating, capboard, doors, door flame, windows, window flames,chop box, moneybox, barrel covers, etc.
Many people go to school (children). THis makes them need tables and chairs. So, people buy the tables and the chairs quickly and frequently, most especially, during the beginning of the terms. I incur the cost of about GHS 5 000 . 00 and after the sales, I can generate about GHS 8 500 . 00 which helps me to support my husband in bringing up the children and caring for the family needs. In fact, it helps me a lot.
Loan Proposal
I sell furniture. Different types of furniture. Some are doors and door flames, windows and window flames, school table and chairs, chop table and chairs, stools used at homes, chop box for boarders at schools, money box for savings, banku stick, barrel covers, etc. I will buy these items to stock my store in the Techiman market. When I stock it, I will sell and get profit out of it. I will get enough money to expand my business and help my family. $1,000 would be enough to expand my business to a very high level. With this, I can gain about $1,600 giving me $800 as my profit after the sales. Then I can restock for new profits.
Actually, I don't make them. In Ghana, there is a city called Kumasi where carpenters make these furniture in large quantities and affordable prices. I buy from them and bring them to Techiman to sell to buyers. This makes me generate a lot of profit. A chair and a table is bought at 25ghs and I sell it at 40ghs. It's like I make new stocks every week. It's a nice business and I love it.
