I am Yuvenalis Mogire. I went to school at Sengera; although I had struggles with life working in our shamba and grazing livestock, I managed to finish O levels. Later I did a certificate in business administration in St. Ann College in Kisii town. After school, I secured a job with the municipal council, from which I managed to save money to start my business. I have three kids whom I am schooling and supporting fully.
After saving, I bought three-week chicks that I personally reared and I liked the idea. After my first sales, I started to rear indigenous chickens (Kienyeji chickens) which I sell to nearby hotels. I opted to raise Kienyeji chickens because of the harsh cold weather here; the indigenous chickens adapt well to the weather. I also sell eggs. I make a profit of USD $1,200 per month, which I use to feed my family and pay school fees for the children.
I request for funds to purchase more extra chicks of three weeks at 350KES each. I intend to buy the new kroiler chicks that are currently doing well in the market. With this I intend to increase my stock thus more sales and more profits. After this I intend to employ an assistant once I get more chicken. With improved profits I will be able to pay my bills and pay school fees for my children.
Thank you
