My name is Bessie Chongwe. I live in Mansa. I worked as a nurse in the mining town of Kitwe for over 30 years and now i grow vegetables at my farm.
I plant various types of vegetables, like spinach, rape, tomatoes and cabbages. I use the money from the sale of the vegetables to buy animals, such as goats and cows.
I plan to use the loan to buy a water tank and pipes for my vegetable field. My vegetables garden has grown so much that I have expanded the field and also included other varieties of seeds to include, potatoes and tomatoes.
The water tank and pipes will help me to water the new section of the field and to increase my yield. My sales to the restaurants and clinics will also increase. I am very excited about this new venture!
I supply restaurants and clinics operating in our area and these institutions are operating normally as the Health authorities have lifted the ban on people eating in restaurants. Also, the clinics require fresh vegetables for their daily requirements.
