I was born to John Wekesa who was a farmer. And i went to school in Namwacha Friends primary school but only got to go to class 7 and not class 8.I didnt manage to attend secondary school because we could not get that kind of money for my education. Then i got married early and also started farming with my husband.I have been selling fish and tomatoes and onions since i was married and have 10 children.
I buy and sell tomatoes and fish to families around my home.I do not have a shop but sell them from my stool outside my home every morning and evening when people come back from work and need food for cooking.I also plant and harvest food such as maize and beans. My children help me in the farm and i am making sure they dont leave school and have a very hard life like me and have everything they need for education.
I will buy "omena" fish worth 20$ and sell them at 1$ each ,making 50 US cents from each fish. With the other 20$ i can buy tomatoes and make 15$ after sales. This will enable me to invest in more groceries and i will be able to buy school bags and uniform for my children.
