My name is Geoffrey Rono from Tumaini in the outskirts of Molo town. I am 29years old married and blessed with one kid.
I am a farmer professionally and studied a diploma course in general agriculture from Rift valley institute of science and technology- planning to further this with special interest in Agronomy.
As a full time profession and source of income, I practice farming in my home where i cultivate mostly vegetables
My hobbies are travelling and listening to music.
I have a farm at Tumaini village in Molo that i inherited from my parents. It is the land that has been my source of food and income.
I plant mostly vegetables especially tomatoes and cabbages. I specialize in these two because of a good demand throughout the year.
My main customers are from Molo town and the neighbouring villages.
Currently i am planning to transplant tomatoes that are now ready in the nursery as well as spray the ones already in the field to prevent damage from excessive rain we are currently experiencing.
It is the onset of long rains here and i would like to take advantage by transpanting tomatoes that are ready in the nursery but i dont have cash yet for fertilizer. I am also planning to spray the ones in the field with Calcium solution to prevent developing blossom-end rot due to excess rain.
I will therefore use the loan to purchase fertilizer and Calcium chloride for early planting and immediate spraying.
The harvest from the kales I have in the field and an upcoming tomato harvest will enable me repay the loan without any challenge.
Thank you.
