I am the first born in our family, i have three brothers and one sister. I come from Kiambu county, Kiambaa location, muchatha sublocation, yamogo village near yamogo A.C.K church. I went to muchatha primary school and did my K.C.P.E in 1995. I joined muongoiya secondary school in 1996 and did my K.C.S.E in 1999. Afer high school i started farming since i had passion in farming since i was young. I also enrolled in a local college where i did computer packages. I like traveling during my free time and listening to music. Traveling give's me opportunity to learn more about agriculture and getting ideas from other fields. My biggest dream is to become a full time farmer, exchange ideas with other farmers, recruit young generation to become reliable farmers and create job opportunities.
After high school i started doing small scale farming. This has always been my dream since i was young. About 70% of Kenyans depend directly or indirectly on agriculture as a source of income. Agriculture is the backbone of Kenyas economy and demand for agricultural products is very high both locally and internationally. The supply is not sufficient to cater for the growing population. The main challenge i have faced in agriculture is climate change, pests and diseases and financial challenges. I have planted kales which i harvest twice a week and also i have planted pumpkins which i will harvest starting September. I'm also planning to start pig farming which is on high demand. I'm working with an architectural firm so i will be able to service my loan using my salary and weekly sales from kales. I'm so proud of Zidisha, it will transform many lives. Thank you alot Zidisha
I am constructing my piggery since i want to venture in pig market which is in high demand locally. I have been constructing using my salary and sales from my vegetable garden. Zidisha loan will help me finalize the construction, purchase of pigs, feeds and help me with veterinary services. This loan will help me alot since my salary and the proceeds from sales will take long time for me before i stabilize my piggery project. I have been looking for extra finance to help me speed my project, I'm so thankful to zidisha and im optimistic that through Zidisha i will finally achieve my goal of being a full time farmer, educate local youth, create job opportunities and to learn and exchange ideas with other farmers around the world.
