I am 34 years, old an accountant by profession with over 10 years of expansive and skillful experience in various industries.
I am married and blessed with two girls.2020 has been a tough year due to the COVID 19 PANDEMIC jobs have been greatly affected with employees either getting salary cuts or loosing their jobs altogether. This has made me think of other ways of supplementing my income to assist in staying afloat.
So far I have tried a few ventures but with not much success but am I am positive and choose to remain focused (Follow, one, course until successful) in farming and selling onions.
Your assistance has always been very helpful and I hope you will walk with me in my venture to financial freedom.
Farming.
I started my farming maize business this year in Kagumo(upcountry) in the year 2019 during the long rain seasons, but unfortunately due to the intensity of the rain the crops were attacked by pests and some damaged and not much was salvaged.
After a few consultations and research I have decided to hire a a piece of land and grow nappier grass since it requires very little maintenance and the availability of ready market at Kagumo(up country). It will require animal manure once a year and harvest between 3 to 4 times a year.
The cost price of hiring rages from kshs.9,000.00 to 12,000.00 per year, maintenance cost per month and manure will cost roughly kshs. 5,000/=,currently I am also retailing onions buying at kshs.30 per kg and selling at kshs. 60 per kg.Per week sales rage from kshs.600/= to kshs.750/=
The loan will enable me carry out the two ventures smoothly and also assist me in meeting my needs and growing my savings.
Your support will be highly appreciated.
I normally sell Pishori rice from Mwea Kirinyaga County. This is a business I do everyday and never feel tired.I normally enjoy the travel to my various clients who call and I take my product to them.
By getting rice from the farmers,no chemicals are used to preserve my product and my customers prefer it to other shelf rice from supermarkets.
Rice is an everyday food in our society and people must eat in order to move on with their everyday activities.I never lack clients for my product and I enjoy providing food for them.I normally sell at a favorable price of kshs. 150 per kilogram which attracts more people to my rice.I buy the rice at kshs. 100 per kilogram giving me a profit of kshs 50 per kilo.
There are challenges I face during transportation because of poor handling and sometimes the sack carrying the rice may tear and the spillage results.
In a good month,I make sales of upto kshs 40,000.
The monthly expenses add upto kshs. 20,000 resulting to profit of upto kshs. 20,000.
The loan will be fully used in buying more rice which will result to more sales and growth in my business. The excess money can be used to create a website which will help in marketing of my product.
