I am Maurine Muathime Ngumbi from Machakos County. I m the last born in a family of eight children. After completing my forth form, I had to look for any legal money making activity, but all was not that possible. That's when I decided to move to Nairobi and joined a cleaning company. The pay was not that good and I began selling boild eggs.
I am employed by a cleaning company in Nairobi. My salary is not enough to care for my house requirements, and also sent some cash for my mum. So I decided to sell boiled eggs at my free time in order to increase my income. I get stiff competition from large scale scale sales because of lack of stock and they are full time salers. I buy an egg at Kes 10/-, then boil and sale it at Kes 20/-
making an interest of Kes 10/- gross and net of Kes 6/- after expenses are subtracted. For one crate of thirty eggs gives back an interest of Kes 180/-
The loan will help me in buying more eggs at wholesale price that is a bit lower than retail price, and increase the the sales of the day.
