My name is Felix Onditi Nyakundi. Born at Jogoo village at the outskirts of Kisii town, I am a second born in a family of four. I completed my secondary school education in 2009, but due to lack of school fees i could not join tertiary institutions immediately. The financial constrain was majorly as a result of the demise of my mother who was the breadwinner at the time. I later enrolled CICT ( Certified Information and Communication Technologist ) certificate with KASNEB, with the help of a well wisher. i excelled but was not successful at securing employment. I was employed by a neighbor as a boda boda (motorcycle) taxi rider for one year ( January 2015 till December the same year). i saved most of the money i was paid and this enabled me open JITAHIDI CYBER CAFE that i now run today. Kisii is a land full of enterprising, industrious youth. Most of the people are youths and women. Kisii used to be a land where women were looked down upon, but that has drastically changed . currently most businesses are owned by women and youths. this has majorly been due to the support given by the local leaders. as a youth, i would like to contribute to the economy by being self employed and by employing few youths at my cyber cafe.
my business is a Cyber Cafe, JITAHIDI CYBER CAFE ; located at Jogoo neighbourhood at the outskirts of Kisii town. I have five desktop computers through which i allow clients internet time; then charge them for the online services. i also do printing, photocopying and scanning services for the clientele. Most of my clients are students from the local colleges and Kisii University. Internet services are very crucial for students especially for research work and to obtain online notes. Printing is also necessary since it helps students print notes sent to them via emails by their lecturers. I opted for cyber cafe business because i noticed a niche in the locality. true to the analysis, the cyber has been very beneficial to the students who frequent the premises for internet and printing services. During the initial days we used to serve fifty clients per day. The number has however doubled and trippled and the three computers currently present are unable to satisfy their needs. Special gratitude i pass to Zidisha team and all the donors. Your support has immensely impacted my life and am sincerely grateful. I was able to purchase a heavy duty printer and this really impacted the business. I now seek is to procure more furniture since we obtained a new more spacious premises and I need $ 420 /- . With your support I know this will be possible. Am deeply grateful for the contribution you have made in my life, though words alone may not sufficiently express it.
Thank you Zidisha team and all donors for the support granted to Jitahidi cyber cafe thus far. In the recent past there has been a rise in demand for photo, passport photo and posters printing within the Jogoo community. During university registration and orientation programmes for new students, passport -size photos are in huge demand. Students have to travel 1 km to the nearby town to have their photos taken. I intend to solve this problem by availing a digital printer that does high quality printing of passport photos, regular photo and campaign posters. With the digital printer available, I can be able to double the daily profit to ksh 4000 daily and the cimmunity will benefit too. I have identified Epson R2000 printer which can handle this task effectively. I have saved $480 for this venture. I humbly appeal donors and well-wishers to top me up with $420 to complete the budget of $900 for purchasing the printer. Thank you all and be blessed.
