I am a married businessman residing at Kiptangwanyi trading center with my family and three children. I have been in Kiptangwanyi for long and thus being well conversant with the challenges and the hardships of Kiptangwanyi and its environs. I reside in plot number 701 at the trading center. My business entails poultry keeping which I have been practicing for a long time since I came to Kiptangwanyi.I keep both layers and broilers. I supply the chicken to big hotels within the region of Nakuru county and it is quite a good and interesting business that I enjoy doing with the whole of my heart. This business is what we rely on me and my family. I have been introducing new and modern methods of poultry keeping recently and this has changed my way of farming to the better. There are also new and integrated commercial feeds that has enabled us to improve the business and also to produce quality broilers and layers. My family often offers assistance which is a cheaper means of labor in my business. I wish to improve the status of my business with this loan that I will get from Zidisha organization.
My business at the trading center entails poultry keeping which I have been practicing since I relocated to Kiptangwanyi. I am a well known poultry farmer around this area. I love this business with the whole of my heart as all my life it is the business that has been sustaining my family. I have customers that range from individuals to institutions. Sometimes I take the products to them and other times when the need arises they come to collect the products from farm. The challenge of transport is a major hindrance that usually increases the cost of production and it is usually very easy to make a loss especially at the times when it is raining heavily. This has occurred twice and the loss that I went almost made me to stop poultry keeping. This is one risk that I usually take very serious and am always prepared for it.The main challenges that this business encounter are fluctuating prices of feeds for the poultry, drought and disease outbreaks that do often occur. I will be very grateful to Zidisha once am eligible to make a loan as I have very high potential of improving the business with the loan that I will be offered by the organization.
Dear Lenders,
I would like to use my loan that I will be given by Zidisha to do the following. First, I would like to add the number of layers to the ones that I already have. This is because the demand is growing and thus I have to keep up with the growing demand for eggs. Secondly, I would like to use some of the money to purchase commercial feed for poultry.
