I live in Bobo Dioulasso and my business is selling imported fruits such as bananas, avocados, papayas, apples and many more. I am a legally married woman and the mother of two children. My husband is a water and forest conservation agent and he lives in Bama, as I did before returning to Bobo three years ago. My first child graduated from elementary school and is now in the community high school in Bobo. I started selling vegetables and my clients were always asking for avocados, papayas, and bananas, so my husband gave me 50,000 (CFA) francs as a starting fund and I bought a table for 7,500 francs as well as egg cartons and a refrigerator for preserving the fruit. I have a diploma in wedding decoration, which I received after three years of training and two years of practice.
I travel to Ivory Coast to look for bananas in particular and then take them with me to Bobo. My business is profitable. I sell three bananas for 100 francs and five for 200 francs. Also, I make a living so that I can spend money on my children's meals, clothes, and care in case of illness. I am asking for a loan from your NGO so I can meet my clients' needs and open my own point of sale. I also have a daughter who helps me with the selling, she has a younger sister (the one in high school), and I pay her according to our monthly earnings. She is a brave girl and I decided to pay her money of her own so that she can also sell on her own and prepare for her wedding, which is planned for December 2016 in Ouagadougou, and that will also give me a contact there in the capital. My best wishes for your team and may God give you prosperity.
