I was born in a village called Barelgo, located 15km away from the city of Ouahigouya. My father is Boureima Ouedraogo and my mother is Mariam Sanga. My father married two women, my mom is the first spouse. My mom had five boys, two died, and four girls who are still alive. I married a man from Ouahigouya whose name is Daouda Ouedraogo. By our marriage we had two girls, one died, and four boys who are all alive. My husband has two wives, I am the second one. So far I am still with my husband but life is not easy for me at all. In this difficult environment I have decided to do business in the city at the Ouahigouya market.
In the city at the Ouahigouya market, I do business with my husband's older sister. We started step by step by selling condiments, cabbage, carrots and salad, onions, tomatoes, etc. We did that for years. At the time I was young and learned how to respect customers and we have more and more every day. Now my husband's sister left and I am in charge of the shop. Today, I manage the shop and thanks to it I can pay for school for my children, up to high school. And life is getting better for me now since my children are starting to be successful and I am very happy. Even my husband is happier about me. I wish good work to the UN and NGOs that support us.
