I was born in Western Kenya 53 years ago. I went to school to class seven back when the education system was not well developed in Kenya. After that I was married and was blessed with six kids. We relocated to Nairobi with my husband when he found a job as a mechanic. When family needs overwhelmed my husband who was the sole provider , I borrowed him money to help me start a food kiosk which I opened to supplement our income. My children are grown up now and working except two young ones who are in college and want to be teachers. I like knitting during my free time.
I generate my income fro m selling ready made food in my food kiosk. My food kiosk is located in a prime area where construction workers always converge and eat therefore am never short of customers. I chose this business because I love cooking and figured that my customers would love my food. Costs include wages, buying food products, local rates and rent. I save most of my profits to expand my business and to supplement the families income.
I will use the money to improve my stocks so as to provide a wide variety food products for my clients. I am also planning to expand my restaurant so am saving and repay the loan to increase my credit and finance my expansion. I expect to increase my profit double fold to about $150 per week.
