About Me

My name is Grain Mwale I live in Kitwe in Chimwemwe township. Am married with 4 children. I grew up with grandmother mother who sent me to school. Although my upbringing has had a lot of hiccups such as paying my school fees until, I completed my secondary school. Due to my hard work and good performance at school, I was privileged to be awarded a scholarship to study at the University of Zambia.

I hold a bachelors degree in Business Administration. Currently am working with the Ministry of Agriculture as an extension officer. I have a stable job and I earn a good monthly income of which am able to sustain my family.

I learnt of Zidisha loan through a friend who introduced and invited me to apply for the loan. I am entrepreneur and am involved in the farming business.

My Business

Am involved in the growing of maize and vegetables, as main source of income in the farming business. Mainly I supply maize to millers and as for vegetables such as the legume, beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbages, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, okra, groundnuts and cassava. At the moment these crops are in demand and the Government of Republic of Zambia is promoting crop farming to create more food production because of drought.

However, because of this great opportunity, I want to inject more funds in the business so that I can grow more maize and more vegetables for sale. Since the market is very open for crop farming in Zambia.

Mainly am looking at the cost of fertilizer for both D-compound fertilizer and top-dressing or Urea. In addition I also need to pesticides that destroy crop in the garden hence the total cost in terms of farming inputs is ZMW 30,000.00 as the estimated projection for crop farming of vegetables and maize crop.

Project Proposal

Am requesting for this loan to buy mainly fertilizer such as D-compound and top-dressing and also the drip pipes for watering of the crops. Therefore I will have a good yield production which will return increase in sales of my crops. Thank you my backers for your support in advance.
