I am a determined and aggressive person reaching my goals. I come from a humble background and raised among 4 siblings. I have a daughter who is 6 years old. She always motivates me to work tirelessly to meet her needs and find a significant future better than mine.
I hold a bachelor degree in Tourism Management from Karatina University. I tried to find a white collar job but it was a hassle and a moment came which I had to think outside the box fast enough to catch up with time. I thought through to be a business woman after consulting with family and friends. It was the best idea because over time the business has grown positively. I am able to meet my needs and make my daughter happy especially knowing that she is in school.
My business operations focus on primarily on selling second hand clothes referred as 'Mitumba' in Kenya. Mitumba is a common word used by anyone who buy such clothes to meet their fundamental need. I sell different types of clothes including jogger & sweat pants, denim jackets, jackets, official cardigans and hats. The clothes are handpicked from Gikomba Market then displayed at my usual spot to reach customers at an affordable retail price.
In the last quarter of 2021, I decided to use my handles in Facebook and Instagram accounts. It was a wise a idea because over time I have reached significant number of customers who inquire products and later delivered at their doorstep at an extra delivery fee.
This year I had a goal to expand my business to reach more customers and maximize my inventory.
I am planning to buy more stock for my business to meet customer demand. The funds will cover restocking denim jackets, cardigans, sweat pants and puff jackets. Each product will have a few pieces added which will be handpicked from Gikomba Market. A fraction of these funds will be used to ease product delivery to my customers.
