About Me

My name is Japheth Mutie ,i was born in Makueni County. My home is in Emali at makasa village along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.
I did my secondary school grade school at Kaumoni Secondary School in 2002 and i did my optional at tertiary education. I'm a father of two kids one kid boy (max) and a girl (Karen).i wish to see them grow to learn to keep poultry too now they’re small.
I’m a hardworking and industrious person who believes life is worthy every struggle to be able to make our dreams come true. I was brought up in the countryside where chicken farming is done in small-scale, and i hope to go large-scale in future. Poultry farming involved raising chickens in the back yard for daily egg production and family consumption. However, poultry farming today is a huge business that is split into several operations including hatcheries, pullet farms for meat production, or farms for egg production. To start the chicken business my uncle assisted and gave me 3 chicken and since then I’ve not turned back, other hardships in life to me I just focus on what I want to achieve then I project it.other challenges like lack of feed and vaccination I used to borrow from my dad and mum.
The most interesting thing in my life was the idea of venturing into chicken farming for eggs and meat, I learned to this from my uncle when i was school and learned alot. He taught me to be optimistic about life and accepted that the duty of making my life great as my solemn responsibility and im proud of the progress with my life im heading to the right direction to take my chicken farming business to a large-scale.i have a hobby in construction I collect the magazine cut-outs of good buildings, highways, good houses and just love good architectural work.

My Business

In my poultry farm fertile eggs are collected and taken to the market, where they are sold. Poultry that are mature for meat are sold to the buyers, broiler chicks are sold to the other poultry farmers who grow out the birds, and send them for slaughtering and processing when they’re matured for slaughter. The health benefits of chicken include its good supply of protein content, the supply of essential vitamins and minerals, benefits in losing weight, cholesterol control, and blood pressure control.
Chicken is the most common type of poultry in the world. It has been domesticated and consumed as food for thousands of years. Chicken meat is widely consumed all over the world this guarantees great demand and market both locally and in other continents. The eggs are rich in protein and beneficial in human health.
I earned 200 dollars from chicken meat and around 50 dollars in egg sales, funding will boost me to buy more chicken feeds, build modern chicken housing, increase egg production from the current and i want to introduce the Kari- kienyeji chicken for meat because they fetch more profits because they are resistant to many many diseases.
I want to improve productivity of chicken meat more this time, a new housing will address some challenges i faced of predators and vaccination. I look forward to reap more and handled chicken business professionally.
I use the profits to pay school fees for my nephew who just joined form one in a secondary school, some of my profits go back to the business to buy feed and vaccination and cater for other household expenses, so by increasing production will be enough to take another direction in the chicken business like, by the end of the year i wish to start a cafe of chips and chicken in the town.

Loan Proposal

I will use loan to buy chicken feed 100 dollars, spend ,vaccination cost of 50 dollars and 50 dollars to expand to an improved housing.Other expenses include operation cost of 74 dollars.
This will realize great opportunity for us in the family to make income and meet our basics.with that investment i will buy 20 new chicken at 5 dollars each, after they matured i will make around 350-400 dollars,a profit of eggs about 100 dollars
