I am Jerry Obeto. I was born in a typical African home which was polygamous. I am a second born to the second mum in a family of six.
I attended a local primary school and being that I was from a humble background I had to study hard and make it anyway, hence went to a prolific provincial school and managed university grades and went to the city for the first time and worked pretty hard and attained my degree. So I'm a Geospatial Information Scientist by profession but currently unemployed from my professional field.
I grew up as an orphan since my parents death in 2009 on the same day just after I did my KCPE. So it wasn't an easy life. So now being like the only person in my family who God has opened his ways a little bit and experienced city life in campus I have to take care of my siblings.
That's the main reason I decided to venture in business so that at least my siblings can get something on the table at the end of the day and still manage to go to school.
I hence ventured into outdoor catering services to help me pay my dues and raise my siblings. It's been a good business and we'll paying but now with insufficient or inferior equipment it can't generate much. So zidisha funds actually can help me grow for my business to be more profitable. I majorly seek funds to buy more equipment to help in carrying out my business.
Besides all these I also got some interest in retail perfumes selling hence have a small shop for perfume refilling and selling backed up with an mpesa shop
Modern catering services offer majorly outdoor catering services in events such as weddings, funerals, parties, conferences etc.
Started in 2016 and has been growing since with me being a co-entrepreneur. However, the business works better with efficient equipments such as tents,chef-ins, sufuria, plates and cups, seats, tables and their covers. Yet this has been our limitation factor at times. Helping funds would actually help us stand out
I will use the loan to buy more catering equipment
