My names are Martha Namchanja Wafula. I am 44 years old and was born in the western region of Kenya and went to primary school at Miendo Primary School in Bungoma from 1979-1986. I went to secondary school at the Cheboi SA Secondary School from 1987-1990. I am married and my husband's name is called Michael Baraza. God has blessed us with 4 children, two girls and boys. The first two are a girl and a boy, aged 20 years and 17 years, respectively, and both finished high school, while the last two are also a girl and a boy but twins. They are 11 years old.
My business is called Faith Mitumba. This is dealing with the selling of secondhand clothes. This business I started two years ago with a capital of 20,000 KSH.
I am mobile: I move from one market to another, every market days of different markets. This kind of business is in great demand because this region is very cold; therefore, people like to have many clothes as possible and change them quite often.
I chose this business because it is easy to sell in an open market, and almost everywhere there are people who want to buy and have the warmth from them. My typical revenue is 12,000 KSH and the cost is only 3,000 KSH per month.
My profit I use in school fees as follows:
1. my girl, 3,000 KSH per month
2. my boy, 4,000 KSH per month
3. re-investment, 2,000 KSH per month
4. home improvement, 3,000 KSH per month
When am given this loan amount then I will be able to buy 5 Bales of second hand clothes at 110 Dollars each and in total will be 5550 US Dollars.
This will increase my sales and hence my income and also my lifestyle.
I expect 50% increase this and next year the more.
Thanks in advance for considering my application to fund me again and I promise to be faithful again as I did in previous ones.
Thanks long live Zidisha.
