My name is Okyere Brong. I am 26 years old,I was born at Kato in the Brong Ahafo Region. But I am now live in berekum. I was raised by my father after my mother died when I was still young. I am the first child in my family. I went to school at Freeman school. my father had no money to pay for my secondary school fees.
After finishing my basic education, I went to live with my grandfather who grow me into farming work. life was good for me because everything I wanted I was provided for me. my grandpa became old and he could not be able to operate on his farm any more so he asked me to take over on his farm work. I never loved the farm work because one could be dirtied with mud but I had too. Now am a good farmer I produce tomatoes, vegetables, maize and beans. Besides that I run a grocery where I sell tomatoes, vegetables, onions, potatoes, cucumber and carrots.
I do tomato farming and so the major products that I provide for the markets is tomatoes. I farm my tomatoes in open field and I always minimize the use of pesticide in my farm.
The demand for tomatoes has always been high since most farmers in my area fear tomato farming saying it has a lot of work to be done. There is a lot of opportunity as many people get there supplies several kilometers away from my village.
I chose this business because it was the most profitable business and I was near source of water. The soils also lack blight and so it supports this crop. Am requesting a loan of $533.67 to expand my farm.
I spend will $120 on labor and manure . my average revenues are $280 per month. I will use my revenues to supporting my family given that my dad is retired and my dad has no stable source of income and saving for brothers university fees.
Am highly grateful to all my lenders for their support and prayers. I was able to pay on time and pleading with you to support me again. I will use my third loan to purchase water pumping machine which is about $250, i will also use $200 to acquire an additional land for cultivation of maize because we are in its session. I will also hire an additional labour to my farm to make it three. Thanks for your support.
