hi zidisha team, my names are tersiah muchiri. i grew up in a town called nakuru here in kenya, rift velley. i went to school at mary mother secondary school in molo township. i completed high school and did some language education, i studied the german language. unfortunately i could not be able to go on with my studies due to lack of finances. i have a son who is a year and a half and am so proud to be a mum.i decided to join my mother who had some dairy cows in our estate. she had other jobs to do so she left me to go on with he business of selling the milk to the locals. i have 4 dairy cows which produce atleat 40 litres of milk per day. i have been able to rare the cows since i finished high school since they were not producing any milk by the time my mother left the job for me. my job entails taking care of the cows to ensure they are well fed,. i also ensure they are immunized. i also sell the unprocessed milk to the locals. they are my neighbours. people around here depend on this unprocessed milk since its of good quality and also very cheap. my son is yet to grow up and am planning the best for him through my hard work. i live with my sister who goes to college and is studying I.T. i love to watch movies during my pastime. sometime i take time to play with my son who love toys very much.
selling unprocessed milk is my business. i have 4 dairy cows which produce atleat 40 litres of milk per day. people have to take tea with milk here every morning and evening. some use the milk to feed their children. i chose to sell the milk due to the ease of doing the business from home. since i dont have to move because of my son. its also very profitable and one dont have to incur much costs in running the business. i ensure i buy dairy meal from the agricultural feeds firm. the dairy meal costs much. plus i have to pay the guy who feeds them and also milks the cows and also occasionally i do pay the veterinary doctor when he comes to treat my cows of any disease.. so i sell the milk in small units like lets say per liter. the profits i get after selling the milk i have been using them to pay my rent, buy extra feeds for the cows. i also save some profits to buy dairy calves which i rear so that i future they grow up to be dairy cattles.
the laon will help me buy dairy meal for the cows so as to be able to produce more milk in quantity. i can get a bag of dairy meal worth $53 which can be used for at least three weeks. this well help in increase of the daily milk i produce to like 50 liters or more. the large number of customers i have will be catered for since some of the go without milk. my profits will also increase due to increase in the quantity that i will sell. i do sell a liter of milk for $0.5. the loan will help me a lot in helping the cows produce more since mostly am not able to feed them properly. the business will grow since i have a dream of having more cows that will enable me even sell to milk processors in large quantities. thank you in advance.
