I am Ruth Nangila, born in Bungoma but later my father was transfered to Nakuru county where we started a new life. I completed my school here and started doing farming and I later started my business of selling second hand clothes, shoes and curtains. The business is still young and am working hard to see it succeed into a large business.
A part from my business am also active member in my church where I serve as the secretary in church youth, I do also engage in charity by giving back to the community in the best way that I can.
My business operates from family premises where I have partitioned and live behind. This is meant to reduce cost of operation. I buy secondhand clothes in wholesale and sell at a profit. the profit i make is taken back to grow my business. currently I have a small stock and with the old sewing machine I have, I want to have it repaired so that I can also offer tailoring services.
This business has changed my life to the better since now i can comfortably take care of my needs. There are challenges like in any other business but I always ensure that I overcome them by giving my best.
In my second loan I would wish to purchase additional sewing machine, In my previous loan I was able to repair my sewing machine at a cost of USD45 though I received less amount, I did add my personal savings.
With this loan of about USD 165, I will top up again with about USD 235 to about USD 400 so that I can acquire new sewing machine (Amedo type) which from experience is durable. I do project that in future I can engage one employee who will assist in my business.
