About Me

I am Harun Bett from Kiptagich Location. I think of myself as a hardworking person determined to make sure that I succeed in all I plan to do. Currently I have a computer services shop at Kiptagich trading center and have employed one person running it. I plan to expand my business by providing internet services and make my shop a resource center where people get various types of information. Through little by little savings that I have been making for a period of more than two years, I was able to purchase a computer and a small printer which are currently being used at my business premises. It is true that little by little drops of water makes a mighty ocean. My hobby is reading especially to get an understanding of some idea and also the current affairs.

My Business

The name of the business is Quickys Technologies. It deals with the provision of Computer services such as photocopying, printing and scanning. Currently the printer that I have cannot print photographs whose demand is very high and so are the returns. From the loan that I am applying I want to use it to top up the amount of USD 372 that I currently have to buy a new printer and later on I purchase (through savings) more computers and set up an internet service to my customers.

There is only one competing shop called Kiptagich Computers offering photocopying and printing services at Kiptagich but there is no shop that offers internet services.

The following are the monthly operational costs of the business: Rent USD 68, electricity USD 31, Salary USD 160, Stationary USD 150, and other Expenses USD 200. Thus the total monthly expenses are USD 609. The monthly sales are USD 870. Thus the monthly profit is USD 261.

The risk the business is facing is the establishment of other computer services shops that provide internet services at Kiptagich trading center. This might make customers who need photocopy and/or typesetting services alongside internet service to go to that shop. However, I will work harder to ensure that I offer internet services at my premises to retain and attract new customers.
Currently, I work as a sales representative at Kenya Commercial Bank and I will set aside some amount from my salary to use to repay the loan so that the profits from the business is ploughed back to business to enhance the provision of the services.

Loan Proposal

I will use the funds enhance my business operations. The funds will increase my profitability upto USD 350 per month. I will be able to buy better printer and I will be at an advantage edge as compared to my competitors. This will happen because the quality of services will be improved a great deal
