Am Kennedy Ndeto from Nairobi Kenya. Am the firstborn of peasant farmers with four other siblings. I grew up in the eastern part of our country I.e kangundo in Machakos county. Schooling in the late 80s and 90s in all rural Kenya was an uphill task. I was not an exception. From trekking barefooted for kilometers, tattered uniforms, and the hunger pangs but I overcame these and did my eight years primary and four years secondary education. I dint perform very well in my high school hence I remained home helping my peasant farmers until I was employed by the Government of Kenya as a public servant. After I married and started a family expenses kept raising unable to be covered by my salary. I opened a small vegetable business to support my wife and partner to raise our three children but which has have been hit hard by the corona pandemic. Hopefully, I can get some funding which I plan to pay using my small salary and raise steadily again to a more meaningful business.
I Am employed by GOK as a public servant.
Again, I have a small vegetable vending business in partnership with my wife. We sell tomatoes, Kales, cabbages and few fruits within our neighborhood. We choose this business because its low startup capital and the few government licenses required. Currently, most of the profits from this carter for our family needs like rent, food, electricity and water, and school fees.
I intend to use the funds to increase my business stocks of foodstuff as I push my retail shop to gain wholesaler status. I intend to continue increasing the foodstuffs which include Maize floor, Baking flour, sugar, and soft drinks as I compete with the many neighboring wholesalers. I had also intended to hire one help hand which am in process of actualizing. This will significantly raise my profit margins.
