My name is Adwoa Serwaa, a self-employed person in the Berekum community. I am in a family of three and I am the second born among my siblings. I started in a humble beginning, because my mum and dad were living in harmony until the time that my father, whose name is Mr. Osei, decided to have another wife [in addition] to my mother. This lady set our family apart because all my father's attention was drawn to that lady. Because of that, I completed school prematurely and I did not even complete basic education.
I stayed with my mother till I reached eighteen years of age. I saw that I was growing old, so I followed a friend who is a hairdresser and learnt this job. I stayed with her for about three years before I left. Thank God that I am now operating my own business with the help of this friend of mine.
Serwaa Hairdressing deals in perming of hair, plating of hair and other things. I have some apprentice that I am training because a friend trained me and I am now doing some work for a living. Now my mum is depending on me and some of my siblings too. My aim is to help my neighbors and other [people] to learn my job. Within a week, I earn about 100 dollars. I use some of this to purchase some perming cream and some tools useful in the job. I use some to feed my family and give some to my workers each day as they work.
When the the loan is offered me I purchase b o 16 cream of twenty quantities which will cost 74 dollars, I will also buy 20 maxima hair relaxer which will also cost 74 dollars and I will also buy 16 maxima hair relaxer shampoo which will also cost 40 dollars and I will also use the rest of the amount to purchase rollers and sertain.
This will give rise in customers in my business and my once status will also rise as well.
I will use 20% of the income to pay for utility and use 40% for repayment of the loan and also the rest for savings and salary of my workers.
