My name is Hellen Manyara, born in 1978 from Bigege sub-location in Nyamira county. i grew up at Kionyomo village, weent to igena itambe primay school where i studied very hard, i competed my primary education in the year 1993 and later proceed to Marani secondary school. i sat for my Kenya certificate for secondary school exams in the year 1997 but it was unfortunate that i could not proceed with my education. this was because of the financial hardships of my parents. i therefore started some little farming, planting maize, onions and sugarcane from where i raised some capital to start a bigger business. in our culture, we don't have large pieces of land to practice modern farming thats why i opted to venture in business. i am a proud mother of two kids who i am working very hard to take them to school, i could like to educate my children well so that they can become responsible children in the future. my children have a passion in teaching and they are ambitious to become teachers when they grow up.
since i had earlier developed interest in farming, my business now deals with farming products, i sell farm produce such as onions, tomatoes and potatoes. i chose this kind of business because it is marketable, in my area, this goods are always on demand because anything dealing with foodstuffs is always on demand. my main source of revenue is from the little profits that i save, i have always made saving an habit thats why i am working hard to always save so as to make sure that i remain in business and also pay for my children's school fees. i am always thinking of investing in the future but due to the relatively lower income rates in our country it is sometimes hard but i am enthusiastic that one time my dreams will become true.
With the loan that i expect from this wonderful great organization, i am going to use it properly to expand my business. i shall use the funds to add more stock to my business. i shall use the full amount to buy more more onions, tomatoes and potatoes. i am quite sure that this will boost my business by at least 40%. with increase in profits i will be able to cater for my family well and pay for my children's school fees, pay back my loan and save for the future. i promise to work with zidisha fully to enable improve my well being and those that surrounding me.
