I am a farmer:main crop is bananas,I rear daily cows and chickens for milk and eggs for sale.I sell milk and eggs in Karatina town,bananas are collected at the farm my traders.the farming has enabled me meet my daily needs plus educate my 2 sons.I make ksh25000 to sh30,000 a month.am looking for ways to expand my farming business in order to increase profit.I have decided to start banana ripening at the farm in order to diversify and maximise profit.
construct a simple banana ripening shed that will enable me stock ripe n unripe banana and those that are in the process of ripening.this will cost me ksh 10,000/- equivalent of of $100.am projecting a profit of ksh5,000 every month= $50.I will be selling the ripe bananas to local traders in bulk(wholesale).to start with I will ripen the bananas from my farm.if the demand rises,I can be buying unripe bananas,ripen them and sell at a profit
