My background
My name is Williard Kikoti from Iringa region, a youth who is thriving to mitigate social and environmental challenges (unemployment, food insecurity, indecent work and deforestation), tapping the opportunity of the increasing global demand for avocado fruits by committing opening avocado farms in different villages of Kilolo district.
About the business
I am the founding director of Willis Avocado Farms, a registered commercial primary producer of organic Hass avocados.
At our firm we are running a collaborative farming program where youths and women who needs land/farms but have no land are given free access of farms on yearly base to grow other horticultural products within our farms.
We are also providing market of manures and urines produced by SMEs led by or youths and women who are doing poultry farming, and rabbit breeders, goats, and cows keepers. Lastly, we do provide coaching and mentorship program for youths and women in avocado farming.
Financial requirements
In avocado farming the orchards needs enough water to grow well, we are located in area where there is no rainfall from late June to November, now we are seeking TZS 300,000 to buy a water storage facility that will be used to collect and store water which will be used for irrigation in months of no rainfall.
Thank you for time and consideration.
