I am 27 years of age who I grew up from a humble background where my parents were peasant farmers back in the village.. I am the first born among three children . I completed a diploma course in Agricultural Education and Extension from Egerton University and graduated in 2012.
I am optimistic person who is a person of faith and believe in the existence of God. being first born, am always hard working, creative and responsible.
My business entails agricultural production and marketing. I buy vegetables and fruits from farmers and deliver in towns to consumers . my products ranges from local vegetables, tomatoes, onions fresh milk and various fruits. being my professional field, i understand quality and preferences of the consumers. i also know where to source my products and the best periods both in terms of demand and supply.
The challenges mostly i encounter is due to perishability of the products that i deal with. vegetables and fruits need proper storage and quick delivery to the consumers. mostly i use public means which is a bigger challenge. having realize that the business is viable, my major plan is to increase the size of the business by increasing capital. this will help me to meat my target of purchasing a moto bicycle by ay 2015. this will help me deliver the products promtly and more efficiently.
I have also rented farming land where am doing vegetable production in Homa Bay county.
I will be glad to receive this loan from zidisha. my plan is to increase the amount of fruits that i supply to the consumers as the demand for fruits such as water melons and pineapples is very high at this warm periods. this will help me to increase my profit margins and meat my goals and objective.
Currently am only able to supply a few estates in Nairobi that is Langata estate and Nairobi west only. and some retails in Kisumu and Homa Bay. the amount will help me to start expanding the business as my aim and ambition is to develop the enterprise into one of the biggest companies dealing with real vegetables in the country.
