My names are Stephen Wambua Kimuyu being born at Makueni County in a family of 6 children being born as a second born in the year 1982.
I started schooling at Musau Imale Primary school in the year 1989 and left at the year 1996 having completed class eight.
In the year 1997 I joined form one at Tututha Secondary School whereby I sat for my K.C.S.E Exams in the year 2000.
I joined Kenya Institute of Management Nakuru College in the year 2002 where I did my certificate in Business Management for one year.
In 2004 I was employed at PRESTIGE SHUTTLES TOURS AND TRAVEL LTD as a customer Relation Office. I have been able to rise the rank to the position of a manager.
Through my employment i was able to buy a nissan of which I drive upto date.
I got married to Rahab in the year 2006 whereby we are blessed with one son.
Through my business I have been able to save for my future reference and cater for my family ne2eds.
Initially, the nissan operated as a public transport vehicle within Nakuru town but later changed the business to offer private school children transport for several schools within Nakuru Town.
Due to the fast economic growth and increase population of the town there is significant increase of school going children who needs my services.
Having been in transportation business, I have an experience of which am courageous enough to run my business. Reliability since I pick the children from their houses an return them back in the evening reducing risks of kidnapping, minor accidents involving the children when crossing the road and being exposed to cold weather during the rain seasons. My business is profitable because I can be able to cater the running cost e.g fuel, insurance, repairs etc comfortably.
The risks that I face mostly in my business lack of proper infrastructure which causes car breakage.
My monthly costs include fuel, spares, service and any other maintenance.
Revenue is collected based on number of children paid per head, distance from home to school which is able cater for the running cost. Have also ventured in chicken rearing business.
Zidisha has been supportive to small scale business enterprises . The loan that am going to receive I will use it to improve my business. I will use the money to buy new chicks, feeding troughs and feeds.
